Resourcing Event

Saturday, March 20, 2010

8:30 am-3:15 pm

Held at Kishwaukee College in Malta (near DeKalb), the Congregational Resourcing Event (CRE) is one of this synod’s finest yearly events. Church council members, teachers, musicians, staff, volunteers, and leaders--just about everyone in a congregation--can take advantage of this learning event to strengthen skills, gather resources, network with others, and discover new ways to enhance congregational and individual ministries.

Dr. Craig Nessan, Academic Dean & Professor of Contextual Theology, Wartburg Seminary, Dubuque Iowa will be the keynote speaker and the event’s focus will be on “Becoming a Missional Church.” To register see Pastor Tom!

Congregational Learning Event

Sunday March 21 @ 9:15 am

“Living and Giving” is a wonderful learning event that involves everyone in the congregation. By participating in enjoyable activities tied to the basic themes of MAKE IT SIMPLE: simple living and generosity, you will explore the topic deeper. This event is designed for all ages – everyone is welcome and needed at this event.

Some of the goals for participants of this event include describing some ways in which they can make their lives simpler, looking at simple living from a biblical perspective, considering giving in relationship to simple choices in their lives, and naming the ways their congregation finds it important to look at living and giving through the lens of our faith.

Please plan on joining us for this exciting event on Sunday March 21!
